Summary

While vacationing with his family, a grieving widower, David Lewis (Peter Gallagher), discovers that his obsession with his deceased wife Gillian (Michelle Pfeiffer)--whose 37th birthday is approaching--has alienated his sensitive teenage daughter (Clare Danes) and caused him to lose touch with reality. He learns, with the help of Gillian's ghost, to relinquish the past and mend his relationships with her other survivors.
